Even 100 years after their invention, speakers are still not perfect. Dynamically and tonally, they are mostly superior to models from the past decades, but even today's best constructions struggle with time behaviour deficits.

In addition, the living room is a decisive factor at the end of the playback chain. Much more than all hi-fi components together, its acoustics influence the sound.

Digital room correction is therefore by far the most important improvement you can make to your playback chain.

We have been specialists in loudspeakers, room acoustics and measurement technology for more than 40 years. We have been using digital room correction methods for more than fifteen years and are among the pioneers of this technology.

audiodata presents the modern software solution AudioVolver-Engine as well as the classic audio processor AudioVolver.

AudioVolver-Engine

High-quality room corrections are also possible directly on our MusikServer without the use of hardware. The AudioVolver engine is a software solution at AudioVolver level.

The AudioVolver engine is a software extension for Roon and calculates the correction of the music files "online", i.e. in real time. It is displayed in the Roon signal path as "Convolution filter 66 k. Order". This corresponds - rounded up to even thousands - to the 2 x 32,768 interpolation points with which the AudioVolver math calculates the corrections. Once installed, the AudioVolver engine requires no preliminary work or user interaction and requires no additional hard disk space.

The software includes streaming services such as Qobuz and Tidal as well as web radios in the correction.

With the AudioVolver engine, you can enjoy top-class room correction without having to integrate an additional device into your hi-fi chain.

AudioVolver

With our award-winning audio processor, the AudioVolver, we have impressively demonstrated what is possible with modern digital technology.

The production of new devices was discontinued at the end of 2022, but the AudioVolver is still available "refurbished" (used, partially renewed - and with warranty) and of course as a used device.

The AudioVolver is a classic hardware solution with analog and digital inputs and outputs. The device becomes part of your playback chain and calculates the room correction in real time during playback.

Calibrating your listening room

Room correction methods are not new. Systems that automatically calibrate themselves with measurement signals that only take a few seconds and have standardized target curves can achieve improvements in individual cases, but do not nearly exploit the potential of this technology.

The AudioVolver measurement method goes much further.

The frequency response is optimized with an accuracy of 0.6 Hz (which would correspond to a conventional graphic equalizer with 32,768(!) bands), time errors are corrected to 22 microseconds (which corresponds to the distance between two samples on a CD) - individually for the left and the right speaker.

This allows us to achieve two stereo loudspeakers with the desired frequency response and perfect pair equality even when the spatial conditions are anything but ideal.
